Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains exactly when a project request becomes a confirmed order, and what happens if you cancel before or after that point.
Last updated: August 2026 · Terms Version: 2026-08-v2
A. Project request
Submitting an inquiry through the Start a Project form, or by direct email, is a project request only. It does not place an order and does not create a payment obligation.
B. Before confirmation
No custom project becomes a confirmed order until you have accepted the agreed commercial conditions and scope, and ByteAndBook has received any required payment or deposit. You may withdraw a project request at any point before confirmation at no cost.
C. Confirmed order
Once an order is confirmed and the required payment or deposit has been received, payments are non-refundable — subject to (a) any applicable law that requires otherwise, and (b) any exception ByteAndBook expressly agrees to in writing.
D. Cancellation
Cancelling a project after confirmation does not automatically entitle you to reimbursement. Work already performed up to the point of cancellation is not refunded.
E. Third-party costs
Where a project involves third-party costs already committed or incurred on your behalf — for example, where applicable, domains, hosting, cloud infrastructure, software licenses, APIs, advertising spend, platform fees, plugins, stock/media licenses, or external contractors/vendors — those costs may be non-refundable regardless of the status of the ByteAndBook engagement itself. Not every category applies to every project.
F. Scope changes
Major changes to an agreed scope after confirmation may require a revised quote and/or timeline before work continues. A scope change is not itself a cancellation and does not trigger a refund.
G. Duplicate / technical payment errors
ByteAndBook does not keep a payment made in error — a genuine duplicate charge or a technical payment-processing mistake. If you believe this has happened, contact us immediately at info@byteandbook.com with your reference ID and payment details; we will investigate and correct genuine errors.
